Our Story
Buckler Property Group originated when founder Paddy Buckler migrated from Wellington, New Zealand, with his wife and three small children to the Gold Coast in 1967. Starting with building, owning and operating small motels in Surfers Paradise, Paddy saw tremendous potential in the Gold Coast, with a population of just 72,000 at the time.
From the humblest of beginnings raised in an orphanage, Paddy had an insatiable work ethic, a dogged determination and a propensity to think against the grain. These qualities helped him beat the odds to curate a significant land portfolio, which today’s second and third generation have the honour of continuing to develop and manage.
Paddy’s particular fondness for the fledgling suburb of Helensvale saw him develop the Gold Coast Country Club golf course and be a primary visionary and advocate for extending the Gold Coast light rail station to Helensvale, providing connectivity to the heavy rail station and adjoining Westfield shopping centre, helping Helensvale become the thriving residential, retail and industrial hub it is today.
Paddy was renowned across the Gold Coast for being fair, friendly and fierce when necessary, characteristics which drive the current Buckler team forward to remain a leading player in the Gold Coast industrial and commercial property landscape.
Development
Buckler Property Group specialises in developing pre-leased industrial buildings tailored to the client’s brief. We work closely with our clients from early design concepts, town planning, detailed design and construction, through to management of the building for the duration of the lease term, ensuring an integrated and seamless experience from the first meeting to the end of the tenancy and beyond.
